OK, perhaps you took a short look at the Imperial Charter and got a little intimidated. Well don't worry about all of it. The only time any of you might have to actually read the whole thing is later on - if you reach the rank of Grand Moff. But we can talk about that oncec you get that far. For now, let's deal only with what you need to know.
First, the Imperial Ranks are a measure of someones contributions to the Star Wars community, specifically the contibutions made to this website and to the accompanying group, Sean's Jedi Fellowship.
Second, points are given for particular actions - club member recruitment, fan fiction, fan commentary, fan art, book reviews, poll administration, etc.,.
The points count towards advancement, and are doled out as outlined in AMENDMENT XVII, of the Imperial Charter.
This information essentially gives you all you need to know about advancement. You can refer to Amendments XVII (17) and XVIII (18) of the Imperial Charter for the rest of the information which should be clear enough for you to understand. Any questions that you have can be e-mailed to me at smcranda@yahoo.com.
Accomplishments for advancement are recorded as follows (contributions/tests max of 4 tests/club participation - max of 1 point/recommendation - max of 1) Just the areas in which points have been earned.
(Rating: 00.00) - This basically the total number of advancement points earned by the officer to the present.
(00.00 from NEXT RANK) - Just the points needed to advance.
It is possible to have enough points (technically) to advance, but to be stuck one, two, or more ranks below what you qualify for. The reason for such circumstances is primarily due Recommendations for advancement and tests - which allow one to advance but don't allot the officer very many points. There are also cases where the officer takes an officer's test several ranks ahead of where they actually are. Basically, these points are withheld until the officecr reaches the rank just below the rank of the previously passed test.
That's about all there is to it. Please address all questions to me at smcranda@yahoo.com. Thank you, good luck, and happy to have you aboard!!!
