Fan Fiction Challenge

It is my desire to assemble groups of Star Wars fan fiction writers and get them to write guided collaborative works that are interesting and exciting for all Star Wars fans to read. This is my first attempt at that vision and I hope it will be successful. If you are interested in writing any of the first five episodes please contact me. Episodes will be assigned on a first come first serve basis.

Star Wars: The Lesser Known Tales

NOTE: All episodes must contain only content that would fall between PG and PG-13 unless otherwise specified.

Episode I: In this opening episode the main characters have their lives intersect as they form a group that will apparently function for a common cause, greed.
LIMITS:
-There must be at least five main characters (consisting of at least 1 smuggler, 1 mercenary, 1 gambler with some substantial financial debts to numerous creditors).
-The characters all converge on Coruscant during the period just prior to the Battle of Yavin.
-There must be at least 2 chases during the course of the episode that lead to the characters having to flee Coruscant.
-The minimum length is 20 pages, the maximum is 40 pages - double spaced, 12 point, Times New Roman, 1 inch margins.
FREEDOMS:
-The title of the Episode is totally up to you.
-Anything not specified in the limits is totally up to you.

Episode II: This episode pics up where the last one left off. In this episode the main charcters are travelling through hyperspace when the ship's power cells start to run low and they are forced to land on a yet to be identified planet.
LIMITS:
-At least one enemy must be identified, confronted and briefly developed. This character must be interesting enough to reappear in the following episodes.
-A simple cell recharge turns into a need for additional work to be done on the engines of the ship. So, the characters are left to wander around a bit.
-There must be at least one bar involved.
-The planet that they landed on has a really peculiar beuracracy, which you need to develop.
-There can be any number of confontations beyond what is mentioned above, but all confontations in this episode must be strictly verbal and non-violent.
-This episode requires the author to develop the story to make the characters more lively and less two-dimensional.
-The length should be at least 20 pages.
FREEDOMS:
-Once again, the title of the episode is up to the author. And anything not stated in the limits is totally up to you.

Episode III: This episode picks up where last one left off and leads into a series of events that entangle the characters with local law enforcement, the ISB, and a variety of spacers. Ultimately the main characters are forced to leave the planet.
LIMITS:
-There must be at least one sabacc game scene.
-There must be at least one bar fight.
-There must be at least one chase.
-There must be at least one complex problem that the characters have to solve quickly while trying to evade capture by the local authorities.
-This episode must be at least 30 pages.
QUESTIONS THAT NEED TO BE ANSWERED:
-What happens to the ship? Is it repaired on time? If not, then what? Is the ship still there?
FREEDOMS:
-You get to name the episode and decide anything else that hasn't already been specified.

Episode IV: Pretty much anything goes with this episode which will take place entirely in space while the characters travel to the next planet.
LIMITS:
-There must be space pirates involved.
-There must be Imperials involved.
-Some sort of disaster should take place.
-The enemy or enemies who were introduced in the second episode harass the characters.
-One kidnapping of a member of the group should take place - this will be the driving force for the remainder of the story.
-This episode should be at least 30 pages in length.
FREEDOMS:
-Once again, you get to name the episode and decide how it ends.

Episode V: Somehow the characters get entangled between the dispute between the Empire and the Rebellion once they arrive at their intended destination.
LIMITS:
-The characters are continuously on the run from the Imperials, the authorities, and are trying their best to avoid the rebels.
-Firefights can and should be used.
-The chacters find that their kidnapped member or members were last taken to Bespin.
-If the characters still have their ship at this point, then it is promptly blown up when they attempt to leave for Cloud City.
-If they don't have their ship then they somehow acquire a new one.
-If the ship is blown up, the enemy or enemies identified in the second episode are found to be responsible.
-Regardless of the ship situation, the enemy or enemies identified in the second episode complicate things for the characters. In any case, these guys still cannot be killed off.
-This episode should be a minimum of 40 pages.
FREEDOMS:
-You get to set the stage for the final episode.
-You get to name this episode.

Episode VI: This is the climatic episode. The author of this episode will have authored one of the previous episodes and will have been chosen by the other authors. Basically, getting to write this episode is a reward for good writing. There's only one limit. The episode ought to be at least 50 pages.
